We were paged by the Coastguard for immediate launch of our lifeboat to a 999 call of a vessel sinking off Ventnor with 2 persons on board waving for help.
As well as us Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team & Coastguard helicopter 175 were also tasked.
On arrival at Ventnor, the coastguard team confirmed it was paddle boarders and they had made it to shore at Ventnor, the had become distanced from each other in the worsening weather, all were good.
Well done to the 1st informant who made the right decision.
On our way back to the Lifeboat Station a report came in about a yacht in difficulty. We arrived on scene to the 40ft yacht called Matapan with its spinnaker sail tangled and jammed. We put a crew member on board and removed the sail.
All good & with his engine running, he headed for port and we headed for home.
